The China Youth Business League (CYBL) is an international organization dedicated to business and leadership education for Chinese high school students. CYBL aims to build a new generation of Chinese entrepreneurs who create rather than recycle ideas, inspire rather than command workers, and captivate rather than capture customers. At a CYBL competition, case studies let students make major decisions, handle crises, and learn the details of an industry, from the perspective of a business leader. The case study method gives students intellectual tools and industry knowledge that they can go on to use in the financial or consulting sectors. CYBL also connects aspiring entrepreneurs in the United States and China by offering travel abroad programs in which students compete in foreign competitions and conferences. Our league is partnered with the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Association. Every year, CYBL holds tournaments to allow students interested in business to compete head to head. The best performing teams at each regional tournament earn an invitation to participate at our national championship in Shanghai. Each competition consists of 4 challenges:
Each section is preceded by a training to teach students all the business concepts needed for the module. This means that CYBL events are the perfect place for even complete beginners to learn a variety of business skills. Students who are more advanced can then strive to win the competitive portions and be rewarded for their efforts. Each event within the tournament piece is scored and separately and has its own awards. Each winter, CYBL also organizes the HUEA Harvard Youth Business Summit together with the Harvard Undergraduate Economics Association (HUEA), bringing together professors and industry leaders together for an exciting and educational conference experience, followed by CYBL’s hallmark business case competitions. Each summer, CYBL also hosts a weeklong summer program including over 28 hours of intensive business lectures, 12 hours of project based learning, guest lectures from industry professionals, and panel discussions with students from Harvard University. Students that attend CYBL camps receive a week of rigorous exposure to a variety of topics in finance, accounting, economics, and marketing. Students will also engage in daily business case analysis to hone their business knowledge, teamwork, and public speaking skills. CYBL Summer Camp goes a step ahead of the rest by covering topics like professional image, personal branding, business etiquette, and cross cultural communication. Summer Camp precedes CYBL National Championships, also held in Shanghai.
